    Finite-Element Analysis Concepts for OpenSees

This video is a catch-all for different considerations you must understand and make before and while you are building your OpenSees Model.

    The OpenSees Realm

This video will cover the key abstractions in OpenSees: the Model, Recorders, Analysis, ModelBuilder and Interpreters. This is an overview presentation of the role of each of these abstractions. Fundamentals of Hysteretic Models, OpenSees Applications

I was invited to give a presentation at a short course on Hysteretic Modeling today. Here is the presentation I put together, I hope it emphasizes the importance to stop and think before you model! Please visit my web page to participate in and support my initiatives: https://www.silviasbrainery.com/

Building a Uniaxial Material Tester in OpenSees

This is an unrehearsed video where I take you with me as I implement a simple UniaxialMaterial tester for #OpenSees in #OpenSeesPy in a Jupyter notebook. The nice thing about OpenSeesPy is that you can take advantage of the ease of plotting data real-time. Remember, you can test your materials in OpenSeesPy and then remove the commas and place them into your OpenSeesTcl input file. Don't forget to subscribe and to support my initiative with Silvia's Brainery however you can! https://www.silviasbrainery.com/
    OpenSees Transformation Command

    OpenSees Transformation Command

This is a detailed video on how to use the Transformation Command in #OpenSees and #OpenSeesPy to define the transformation from element/section local coordinates to the model's global coordinate system. I show you how to do it for aligned sections as well as for the case of a rotated section. Please make sure you visit my web site to support this initiative :https://www.silviasbrainery.com/ If you would like to learn more OpenSees, sign up at: https://courses.silviasbrainery.com/

My Vlog on a Blog: Pinching Parameters in the Hysteretic Material in OpenSees

This video is a vlog (unscripted) to add on to the conversation started by Michael Scott's Blog (https://portwooddigital.com/2020/12/27/hysteretic-pinching-parameters/) on the pinching parameters of the Hysteretic Material in OpenSees. Let me know what you think, and don't forget to subscribe. https://www.silviasbrainery.com/

Sequential Earthquake Analyses -- AfterShocks and Foreshocks -- in OpenSees.exe (Tcl) and OpenSeesPy

This topic came up yesterday during our OpenSees Cafe, so I thought I'd produce a lesson about it -- how do we run sequential earthquake analyses in OpenSees. This video covers both the Tcl and OpenSeesPy versions. I also walk you through updating a file from the OpenSees Examples Manual to work with the current version of OpenSees.
